vandalisms in neighbourhood

Recently, I have received an e-mail from Mr Jon about the crime of vandalisms of car.

This is the following incident:

Last night I was parking my car at Blk 10 level 3 multi-storey car park, and this is what I saw! I cannot believe it, so terrible of people to do such things. See the pictures I attached? All these cars are sprayed with paint and scratched. Hope you can forward this email to all our neighbours to warn them that vandals are around.
Hope everyone can be on the lookout for each other and inform suspicious characters in our neighbourhoods.
PS: Check out the crime-prevention posters I snapped last week, you think they work on warning the people?

Thanks Mr Jon for the e-mail and comments.

I was curious if this have goes on for a long time so I interview some of the citizen around the neighbourhood to find out more.

· Mr Vejaya from Blk 7 –

‘I saw similar vandalism last year at the multi-storey car park. I saw a young man spraying with a spray can on a blue car. The car is not his because as the moment he saw me, he ran away. The timing was about 3am when I just get back from work. I could not see clearly his face as he is wearing cap.’

· Mr Loo Talkalot from Blk 12 –

‘I was a victim of car vandalism 2 months ago. I park my car at the multi-storey car park from around 10pm to 745am the next day. What shock me is that my car was spray with words like (pay $$) when I never even borrow any money from people. The hand writing is bad and destroys my sliver mini copper. Not only that, I think the vandals have more than one as there are about 3 cars have the same spray on words as mine expect the colour is different.’

· Ms Tan Bee Wee from Blk 3 –

A student from RP, had witnessed firsthand someone vandalising a car two months back. ‘I was on my way home and saw this man, age around 20 to 25. Wearing big size black t-shirt and blue jeans, his hair is should length and cover his right eyes. He also has a big scar on his right hand. He spray gold colour paint on someone car door , not only one, it was about three car which have the same paint.

I have also interview CPL Lim on the views and tips on vandalism–
These are some tips that he gave to us on the prevention about vandalism.

Report on the spot on the day

Tell the neighbourhood and ask to help for lookout.

Remember the look of the people who vandalism.

Ask for help if you are alone with the vandals, do not act alone.

You can e-mail him if you have any questions on helping on crime.

As Mr Jon mention about the usefulness of the posters, what are some of the views you have? How can they improve to make it better and have effective on the citizens? Do you think they work?

Feel free to twitter or drop a comment to discuss this topic.

Thanks you

I also discover some different news in the same neighbourhood

· Ms Poh Hu Li from Blk 4 –

a schoolboy was beaten up by a gang of 4 other older boys last week. I was on my way to fetch my children and I saw this poor boy was beaten up by 4 bigger boys who look like gangster. The boys look fierce and were asking money from the small boy. The gangster ran off after they heard the police car. I think someone have to stop such bulling to happen.

How do you see to this interview?
Have you seen any bulling before or you will like to share some of the story you heard?
If you have, please e-mail me at Mreporter@hotmail.com
